National Congress STI*HIV*Sex 2019

December 1, 1988 was the first World AIDS Day to be created as a result of an initiative by employees of the World Health Organization. Today, on 1 December of each year, we celebrate the fight against AIDS and call for more solidarity with people living with HIV and AIDS.

Asha International aims to contribute to the reduction of STIs, HIV and AIDS through education and donations. On 1 December 2019, we will again be present at the National Congress STI*HIV*Sex in the Beurs van Berlage.

Together with more than 500 professionals and representatives from different target groups, you can be informed and inspired throughout the day about (the latest developments concerning) STIs HIV and healthy sex.

Asha International also sponsors condoms at the AZ Sint-Jan. AZ-Sint-Jan has a multidisciplinary team, consisting of doctors, nurses, a dietician, a social worker, a psychologist and a sexologist, with the aim of approaching patients in their entirety and offering support in various areas. During World AIDS Day they try to explain to people that unfortunately HIV has not disappeared from the streets yet.

By means of a stand in the hospital they try to raise awareness and inform patients, visitors and staff on World AIDS Day. The condoms will be offered as an awareness of preventive measures against HIV.
